FACTORS AFFECTING TO ENVIRONMENTAL GOOD GOVERNANCE IN NONG BUA LAMPHU MUNICIPALITY

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to examine Factors Affecting to Good environmental governance in Nong Bua Lamphu Municipality to analyze the environmental management of the municipality by applying the good governance concept and to conclude lessons learned on environmental governance for other local authorities. The study evaluated the environmental performance of Nong Bua Lamphu Municipality As a result, methods for efficiently solving these environmental problems were sought. The present research aimed at studying good governance in environmental management, the problems and obstacles, and Factors Affecting to Good environmental governance in Nong Bua Lamphu Municipality for the local authority in Udon Thani. Data were collected between June – July 202. Factors Affecting to Good environmental governance about 6 dimensions of principles of good governance: equity, integrity, transparency, public participation, accountability, and efficiency and effectiveness. It was found the strengths included leaders of local government organizations, environmental strategies, creating a good culture in the local government organization, and public participation. Lessons for other local authorities are the vision and commitment of the executives, focusing on conserving resources and the environment, strengthening communities’ capacity, and promoting participation in the community. These principles in turn helped make the Nong Bua Lamphu Municipality to local government organization authority as well as a highly-successful organization in terms of environmental management.
